The unique festival feeling we all know and love is well and truly with us now. Having already enjoyed both the Film and Jazz & Blues Festivals, we now have the city’s Art, Fringe and International Festivals to enjoy.
At Assembly Rooms, we’re proud to be a part of Edinburgh Fringe and delighted to welcome back Assembly Festival, who are taking over the building inside and out. Assembly Festival have been in the Fringe game for 39 years this August, the longest running multi-venue operator at Festival Fringe, who now run five separate sites across Edinburgh.
As Assembly’s ‘New Town Hub’ during Edinburgh Fringe, visitors to Assembly Rooms can enjoy four performance spaces at the venue.
Outside, George Street becomes a box office, bar and experience destination all in one. The popular West Lane Bar also returns, sponsored by Becks Lager and Goose IPA. The bar will have unique installations, while being a place to sit, relax and have a drink before or after a show.
Assembly Festival bring a varied and exciting programme to Assembly Rooms in 2019.
Music fans are spoilt for choice with shows such as Friendsical, based on the popular tv series, Legally Blonde the Musical, Wannabe: The Spice Girls Show and Musik from writers of The Pet Shop Boys musical.
Those looking for a night at the circus may well be impressed by My Land, The Black Blues Brothers or Bromance while younger audiences will enjoy Jarred Christmas and Hobbit: The mighty kids beatbox comedy show.
