The Assembly Rooms is an ideal venue for filming, TV programming, location shoots and many more options for the big or small screen.
Our beautiful venue has been recognised by a number of production companies, looking for a special location and a first class team. Over the past few months alone, we are proud to have provided a stunning backdrop for a momentous televised political debate; a BBC documentary; and the Scottish auditions of this year’s X Factor.
From the spacious and flexible Music Hall to the glamorous Ballroom with its infinity mirrors, and chandeliers, as well as two elegant Drawing Rooms, every area is camera ready. The spaces provide a spectacular blank canvas which can easily be transformed into a studio debate, audition room, or period location set.
Discretion is our watchword and even when other events are taking place in the building, our flexible layout means we can offer private or exclusive access when required.
Our in house production team can work with you or your crew to ensure all the requirements have been covered.
"I am completely exhausted but very happy with the outcome of the programme. It all ran very smoothly indeed and I think that is largely down to your professionalism and helpful approach from start to finish. The technical crew reported back on how thorough the support they received from the team was, there was nothing that was too big a problem and the result was a complex but painless rig and a technically clean transmission.
The feedback from viewers and contributors regarding the venue has been very positive, it not only looked stunning but it met our needs perfectly. The viewing figures were excellent and the format made full use of the impressive surroundings of the Assembly Rooms." STV Senior News Director, Sept 2014
